LOFTUS TOWN COUNCIL
A vacancy has arisen on Loftus Town Council for the position of Town Councillor for Loftus Ward for the electoral term of office to May 2019. This vacancy will be filled by co-option.
Any person interested in being co-opted as a Town Councillor should write to the address below with details of why they wish to be considered for this post, and what they consider they would be able to bring to the Council or the area.

Noon on Friday 28 April 2017
All applications will then be considered by the Council at its meeting at 7pm on 8 May 2018. Applicants are welcome to attend this meeting, and may speak briefly in support of their application during the Public Participation session, however will be excluded from the meeting whilst decision is made by the members.
The successful applicant will be expected to attend several meetings each month. There is no remuneration for this post. The Town Council meets in Loftus Town Hall on the first Monday evening of every month other than August or Bank Holidays or in exceptional circumstances. Additional meetings may be arranged. Committee meetings are generally held on weekday mornings or Tuesday twilight sessions at Loftus Town Hall.
It is a Local Government Act condition that Councillors either live or work within the Town Council boundary or not more than three miles from the boundary. You will be asked to sign a Consent and Declaration of Qualification to Co-option. It is a further condition that Councillors must declare all their interests and comply with the Town Council Code of Conduct.
