Have you spotted that there are new goal posts up on Ben Scott's field in Loftus - just in time for a half-term kickabout.
This hasn't been organised by the Town Council, but members are convinced that this will be seen as good news for the community - there was a lot of interest several months ago when a trial pitch was outlined up there.
Cllr Wayne Davies (who is both a Town Councillor and a Borough Councillor) explains - "After receiving a request from Britannia FC, a football team in Loftus, and residents of late. I secured the necessary funding through my Councillor Ward Allowance to pay for the installation and marking of the new Ben Scotts playing field, complete with new goal posts.
The next stage will entail the conditioning and renovation of the changing rooms facility up there which will ensure that Loftus continues to have a footballing future for years to come.
The Borough Council have agreed to maintain and re-line the updated facility throughout the year, which is excellent news for all users."
